The appliance offers different functions such as chopping, pureeing, dough mixing and shredding. It also features low, high and pulse speed settings. Although it can be pretty loud during operation, the results are impressive.

Start with small amounts of ingredients when first using the food processor. This will help you understand how the appliance works and prevent you from overprocessing your food. Be careful when using the pulse feature; it takes a while for the blade to slow down after releasing the button. Additionally, it’s best to clean the food processor immediately after use to prevent food from drying on and sticking to the components.

Most of its components are dishwasher-safe, and the ingredients are easy to remove after processing. Our testing team noted that the collection bowl prevented ingredients from getting bunched up, and the dough didn’t stick to the sides as much as they thought it would.

Ninja BN601 Professional Plus Food Processor drawbacks

It's pretty loud. Per the testing team, it's significantly louder than a NutriBullet blender but not as loud as a lawnmower. The slower speed settings aren’t terrible, but the high setting is noisy and causes the machine to shake. The BN601 was particularly loud when the testing team made dough. It seemed like the motor was working hard, causing them to wonder how long the machine would last if it were used to make dough daily.

The pulse function could be better, and the included recipe book lacks clarity and detail. However, the how-to guide provided helpful insight into caring for and maintaining the machine’s components. Take advantage of the dishwasher-safe components — the blades are sharp, and hand-washing them can be difficult. Still, it’s important to note that the dishwasher may dull the blades over time. If you feel comfortable cleaning the blades by hand, this method may extend their lifespan.
